Hope everyone had a great Memorial Weekend!
All reserveable campgrounds were booked, so we went to our default 'first-come-first-serve' campground, Mr. Viento.

To kickstart our weekend, we decided to take our bikes out to the Historic Columbia River Highway.  It was a nice 10 mile round trip with 900 ft elevation change.  It was quite a quad burner for the mrs.  This highway is closed to cars, so it reserved for just hikers and bikers.  Martha did not let me wear my assless chaps, apparently that is for a different type of biking. Since the highway was very wide and no car traffic, for the first time Martha did not use her brakes to go downhill, she actually pedaled to go faster. A tear formed in my eye, my baby is growing up.

We followed up our biking with a 3 mile round trip hike at Tom McCall Preserve.

We made it!

On Sunday our legs felt like jello, so we decided to do a what we thought was a leisurely hike, the Klickitat Rail Trail.  The trail is an abandoned railroad track, winding through a gentle canyon with a rolling stream. Not mentioned in our guidebook, we had to stealthily sneak past a herd of mooing cows and big piles of pies.  Unfortunately, my right boot did not make it, squishy!

Moo Poo

Martha! You married this!

Welcome to the Gauntlet!  Let's Fight!
